Private School PEP Hybrid Program at Wildflower Academy

This program is a flexible and personalized learning option created for students with autism and unique learning needs. Our hybrid model blends specialized in-person support with at-home learning, allowing students to receive individualized instruction in a nurturing, sensory-friendly environment while maintaining the flexibility families need. With a focus on academic growth, social-emotional development, life skills, and confidence-building, Wildflower Academy partners with families to help every child learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace.
 

Hybrid Attendance Model

Wildflower Academy operates a hybrid instructional model designed to provide students with a balance of in-person learning and flexible remote instruction while meeting Florida's educational requirements.

 

Two Mandatory On-Campus Days (12 Hours Weekly)

Students are required to attend two scheduled on-campus instructional days each week, totaling 12 hours of in-person instruction. During these sessions, students participate in teacher-led lessons, collaborative learning activities, hands-on projects, individualized academic support, and assessments as appropriate. Regular attendance on designated campus days is expected and is an essential component of the Wildflower Academy educational program.

Flexible Remote Learning Days

 

On non-campus days, students continue their education through structured remote learning via our Google Meets. Families have the flexibility to complete instructional activities at times that best support their schedules while following the weekly learning plan provided by Wildflower Academy teachers.

Remote learning curriculum includes:

• Teacher-assigned lessons

• Independent reading and writing activities

• Mathematics practice

• Project-based learning

• STEM and enrichment activities

• Educational technology and digital learning resources

• Assigned coursework and practice activities

 

Parents or learning coaches provide support during remote learning, while Wildflower Academy teachers monitor student progress through assignment submissions, completed work samples, assessments, and ongoing communication with families.

Attendance Monitoring

Attendance is documented for required on-campus instructional days. Student participation during remote learning is monitored through completed assignments, academic progress, teacher feedback, learning portfolios, and regular communication between families and instructional staff. This hybrid model encourages flexibility while maintaining academic accountability and supporting each student's educational growth.

Digital Curriculum & Virtual Progress Monitoring

Wildflower Academy's hybrid program integrates digital learning tools with teacher-guided instruction to support student success both on campus and at home.

Live Virtual Check-Ins: On remote learning days, students participate in scheduled live video sessions through Google Meet. These teacher-led check-ins provide opportunities for individualized instruction, academic support, assignment review, progress monitoring, and student engagement. Teachers use these sessions to answer questions, assess understanding, provide feedback, and ensure students remain on pace with their coursework.

Digital Learning Platform: Students access assignments, instructional materials, and learning resources through our digital curriculum platform. Teachers monitor assignment completion, review submitted work, provide timely feedback, and track student progress throughout the school year.

Ongoing Academic Support: Families receive regular communication regarding student progress, and teachers are available to provide additional guidance, intervention, and instructional support as needed to help students achieve their academic goals.

This hybrid approach combines the flexibility of home-based learning with the accountability of regular teacher interaction, ensuring students receive consistent instruction and progress monitoring throughout the academic year.

Parent Responsibilities

​

As a parent-directed program, families play an active role in supporting their student's education and maintaining scholarship compliance.

• Scholarship Portal Management: Parents are responsible for logging into their Scholarship Funding Organization (SFO) portal (such as Step Up For Students) to review and approve Wildflower Academy invoices in a timely manner. Prompt approvals help ensure uninterrupted enrollment and scholarship funding.

• Program Compliance: Parents are responsible for completing all required scholarship documentation, including the annual Student Learning Plan (SLP), maintaining a portfolio of student work as required, and ensuring their student completes any required annual assessments.

• Partnership in Learning: Parents support their child's learning on home instruction days by encouraging assignment completion, communicating with teachers as needed, and helping students stay engaged with their educational plan.

This collaborative partnership between families and Wildflower Academy helps ensure students remain on track academically while meeting the requirements of Florida's Personalized Education Program (PEP).
